Dry socket after baby tooth extraction?

I had a baby tooth extracted and was wondering if you can get a dry socket after getting a baby tooth pulled. The only reason why I am asking was because I was told by a dentist that I could not because the root was so short that there was no possible way I had a hole big enough to possibly not clot. This was told to me by the same dentist that looked at my tooth, said this, then said I did not have a dry socket, then put a hole in my clot, and packed it with dry socket paste and sent me on my way. Please help!!

Dry socket after baby tooth extraction?
i had dry sokets when i got my wisdom teeth pulled. they sucked and hurt really bad.

i dont think you can get them if you have another tooth underneath, and for small holes its not as likely, but you can still get them.

just make sure you don't have anything hot to make the clot fall out.

and use that stuff that they gave you even though it tastes gross.

but if you are confused about having a dry socket, you will be able to tell.

its hurts really bad
Reply:What's a dry socket?
Reply:Dry sockets don't usually occur with deciduous teeth (baby teeth), but you must have been having some pain to go back in and have it checked. As stated above, they hurt and throb continuously. If you were having that much pain after removing a baby tooth it seems there may have been something unusual about the extraction. What was the reason for removing the baby tooth? How old are you? If there was a clot it shouldn't have been packed. Dry socket dressings smell like cloves and need to be removed in 2-3 days. I'm surprised he got one to fit in that small of an extraction socket. Did he ask you to return to check the dressing? The dry socket medication can't hurt you and hopefully in a day or two you should be fine. If not, you may want a second opinion. It just seems unusual to have any real problems after a baby tooth extraction.
Reply:DON'T WORRY BABY TEETH WHEN PULLED DON'T GET DRY SOCKETS. THIS CAN ONLY HAPPEN WITH ADULT TEETH, MAINLY WISDOM TEETH.
