Tooth extraction last week?

Wisdom tooth pulled 7 days ago. When is it safe to use an automatic toothbrush and mouthwash again? Using manual toothbrushes makes me brush to hard which is why I have receding gums and not using mouthwash makes my mouth feel like it is still dirty.

You can go back to your normal routine now.

Except that there is something amiss with your normal routine. You should not have receding gums from brushing too hard. You have receding gums because you have periodontal problems. Floss, floss, floss [only the ones you want to keep]. And visit a dentist. And go back every 6 months for a cleaning.
Reply:You`ll be fine after 7 days just as long as there is no bleeding with the mouthwash. The electric brush might need to be held of for a few weeks though.
Reply:It's safe to use the automatic toothbrush now, just be careful in that area and I would still hold off on the mouthwash a little longer. They tend to do more harm than good when there are sores in your mouth.
Reply:I had all 4 wisdoms pulled a year ago and went back to my automatic toothbrush within the first week -- I simply stayed away from the surgical areas. In terms of the mouthwash, I used a natural mouthwash, (Tom's of Maine brand), since the dentist said I could use anything without alcohol. Since my brushing wasn't as thorough as usual, the mouthwash was a big part of giving me that "clean" feeling.
