I had a molar extracted 3 days ago. Since then I have felt a bit weak, dizzy and quesy. My dentist has given me antiobiotics to take.It is Clindamycin. I am so nervous to take them. I rarely take antiobiotics and when I do they make me very sick to my stomach. I know I am supposed to take with food but dos anyone have any suggestions what I can do do decrease the nausea? Also I am more swollen now than I was the day of the extraction. How long will it take to go away?
Thanks!
Tooth Extraction and Antiobiotics?
Normally the swelling will go down in a few days. you might want to call your dentist and tell him those antibiotics are making you sick. He will give you something else because you do need to be taking them. Try taking an anti-inflammatory and put a cold pack on the swollen areas to help take some of that away.... you'll be okay
Reply:Definitely keep taking the antibiotics. If he gave you pain meds, that could be making you feel dizzy or sick. If not, then call your dentist and talk to him...it could be possible that you are having a reaction to the antibiotics, or he may tell you that it is fine. I wouldn't stop taking them unless the dentist says to though or else you could end up with a serious infection!
Reply:take your medications, Clindamycin?
Reply:The swellen sound go down soon, it takes a few days. Antiobiotics upsets my stomach also, but you have to take them. Try taking them with a full stomach, try yogurt or soup or pastina pasta if you can't chew yet.
Good Luck!
