Will dry socket develop three days after wisdom tooth extraction?

so far everything has been going great with my extraction, its been three days and most of the pain has gone away. i had three wisdom teeth pulled. from what i understand dry socket develops after the 2nd day. its been most of the 3rd day already and their is no new pain, what is the chance that i will still get dry socket?

It sound like you may get by without a dry socket. Believe me, if you get one you will know as the pain becomes excruciating. You would need to return to the oral surgeon to have the area packed with a medicated packing. As long as it keeps getting better, you are in luck!!!
Reply:Probably pretty slim. Sounds like you are in the clear.
Reply:dry socket usually occurs in people that chain smoke after getting their teeth removed. It is otherwise uncommon
Reply:I wouldbet you won't.Wisdom teeth are no more prone to dry sockets then anyother teeth.
Reply:to make sure this doesn't happen. make sure that you do not drink from a straw within the first 3 to 5 days. eat soft foods and make sure you do a warm salt water rinse 2 to 3 times a day for the first few days. about 4 oz of water to 2 tsp of salt make sure the water is warm. rinse in mouth like mouth wash and repeat until the 4 oz of water is gone. good luck, and im glad your pain is gone.
Reply:If there wasn't anything abnormal about the extraction process itself, then you shouldn't have anything to worry about.
