Braces and tooth extraction??

is this normal and when im going to get my teeth pulled how long will it bleed??/

just wondering

Braces and tooth extraction??
I had this happen to me! I was told that the reason they put braces on before they have teeth extractions is health reasons. If you have any allergic reactions from the bonding they put on your teeth to keep the bracket on, then at least when they have to take your braces off, you won't have missing holes due to getting your teeth taken out before your braces were put on. Plus, if you have braces on and holes, people won't ask questions! The bleeding won't last long. You will have gauze in for about 3 hours, and they will give you some extra in case it starts bleeding again. I hope this helps! Believe me, it will be all worth it in the end.
Reply:It is common to have teeth extracted when there is not enough room in the mouth for teeth to grow without crowding. Bleeding from an extraction is only slight after leaving the doctor's office and normally lasts at most 24 hours before the healing begins.
Reply:It's definately normal, especially if you have overcrowding. That's what happened to me.

While you're in the chair, they should gauze it and stuff so it stops faster...they will give you gauze to bring home. Usually you need to wear it (in your mouth, hehe) for 24-ish hours, or until the bleeding stops.

It really depends on your body and how long your wounds take to heal. But even when the bleeding stops, your gums will be pretty raw. If you're getting the braces before they won't start moving the teeth into the gap right away...

Good luck!
