Nerve twitching after wisdom tooth extraction?

I am 25 years old and had my wisdom tooth (upper right) extracted 4 days earlier. The procedure hardly lasted 15 minutes and the doctor(dentist) said it went fine. The first day went ok, but since the second day, I have been experiencing constant nerve twitching just below my lower right jaw area. It feels as if someone is pulling a string, and one of my tooths (lower right - 1st molar- which had nothing to do with the extraction) hurts constantly. It feels like someone is hammering it..Its a throbbing pain and the pain is severe. In addition to this, I have constant 'buzzing' on my right ear+pain. Iam not able to sleep, as the nerve twitches are scaring me out. The nerve twitches seem to be getting worse day by day. My right face feels numb and my lips feels funny %26amp; numb aswell. Painkillers (Ibuprofen-400mg %26amp; Parecetemol400mg) work for 2 hours excatly and then I have the same problem again. Have I damaged my nerve? - Iam really scared. Any suggestions would be much appreciated.

Nerve twitching after wisdom tooth extraction?
This is just my opinion. You should definitely call your dentist (oral surgeon) for a post-op appointment immediately because it could be paresthesia, a complication associated with the removal of wisdom teeth. You see, during the process of extracting a wisdom tooth, the nerves can be bruised or damaged. As a result, numbness of the tongue, lip, or chin may occur. There is also possible but not likely reason - atypical neuropathia (atypical face pain) subsequent to surgical removal of impacted third molars. That would explain the twitching pain. Jaw damage is also possible.

Contact your oral surgeon. Hope that helps
Reply:you need to call your dentist and ask him to have you back in to check it out. you might have a dry socket, which is a painful condition that can occur after an extraction. without being a dentist myself, i can't answer the question with any surety.
Reply:If it was your lower teeth we could have suspected a nerve injury

. Since it is the upper teeth, neither the injection nor the surgery comes any where near the mandibular nerve . There is a possibility that your had a muscle pull bcos you were opening the mouth wide. I hope it will disappear in a week or so, if not go to your dentist.
