I heard from a friend that it should just fall out in a few weeks.........they didn't break the tooth when they extracted it they got the whole tooth though

Wisdom tooth extraction - post op?
Sometimes there are little bone shards that will work themselves up and out of your gum tissue. It sounds like that is exactly what you have, and it shouldn't be a problem. If it becomes tender, swollen, you develop a foul taste or smell, you should go see your dentist/oral surgeon. ( I am not diagnosing your condition, only your doctor can do that.)
Reply:Its called a bone spur, quite normal see a dentist if it doesn t come out all the way or becomes bothersome.
Reply:When ever you have a tooth extracted, it is removed from the bone so there will bw bone fragments. This is quite norrmal,

it the swelling persists contact the dentist you might need antiobiotics
Reply:when you have wisdom teeth extracted sometime there are boney spiceals , but they will fluff off, if not the oral surgeon can remove them with tweezers. nothing to worry about
Reply:i don't know about that i had all four of mine removed, and 2 were impacted, i had surgery and bled but i was given some gauze, pain killers, and sent home so you might want to call the hospital, and talk with the nurse- because that does not sound right
Reply:It's normal and the sutures will disolve on their own. Start rinsing with warm salt water, don't smoke if you do, because you could get a dry socket which is very very painful.
