Front tooth extraction?

Okay, I had a front tooth removed yesterday morning, the tooth was positioned behind an incisor and my large middle tooth. Luckily I've had no pain, but I'm having quite a bit of difficulty in eating and drinking, I'm managing to get things down, but it is incredibly awkward because I have limited movement with my tongue. I'm trying to stay calm about it but it is becoming frustrating. I've been doing everything my dentist told me, but is there anyone whose had a front tooth extraction and how did you get through it?

Healing of an extraction socket will indeed take atleast three days. So you will have to wait. In order to stay out of a complication of infection because of the food getting into the socket, rinse your mouth with saline everyday. Since it is your front tooth, its more obvious to you. Chill!
Reply:It will go away in less then a week
Reply:Telephone or visit your dentist for advice.
Reply:I have had numerous dental proceedures my whole life and the best thing to do (that worked for me. . . ) is to let Father Time heal you before you start chewing. Go to the store and get some liquid nutrition like Boost, Ensure, or even SlimFast will work. Buy pudding, applesauce, yogurt and lots of fruit and veggie juice. Maybe in a few days eat some mashed potatoes. My point is go slow. Don't rush your healing. You'll be better off in the long run. (whatever you do DONOT drink thru a straw or you might get dry socket.) Good luck.
