Easiest time healing from Wisdom Tooth extraction?

Has anyone had a easy healing process from a wisdom tooth extraction? I had two wisdom teeth pulled on Friday and by the end of the night, I felt fine. Saturday, I was in a little pain, but not much. Today, I feel great. I heard so many horror stories, it scared the daylights out of me. Can anyone else relate to what I just went through? So far everyone that I spoke to, had a really hard time healing.

That sounds great! My only advice would be not to get really hot OR cold for a few days. I always heard that would make the gums set up 'dry socket'. Good luck.
Reply:omg! i remember when my friend had his taken out, his moouth was all puffed up, yeah it only gets better, try not to eat hard foods. so i got question. mine are starting to come in, but they are just below the skin of my gums. Whenever i take a big bite, or when i open my mouth to big it makes a clicking noise, did this happen to you?

back to your question, umm 4-7 days
Reply:I had a bad time with mine, but I had dry sockets.

My husband had his out and you would have never known it if he didn't tell you. He never complained once. I think he took tylenol one time after.
Reply:I'm a dentist.

I'd say that the majority of people who have their wisdom teeth out experience only mild discomfort, provided they are prescribed the appropriate pain medications. I extract bony-impacted wisdom teeth regularly, and it is very infrequent that I get patients coming back to my office complaining of intolerable pain.

You have to remember that people just love to exaggerate, especially when it comes to dental work. It makes their stories more interesting. The reality is that very few things that we do actually hurt, especially since we generously utilize anesthetics.
Reply:I had mine removed about 12 yrs ago, simple experience, no pain, no swelling or dry sockets. I didn't smoke, drink out of a straw, and I rinsed regularly with a water syringe. By the 2nd day I was enjoying a cheeseburger. (Guess I'm a quick healer) Just follow the post-operative instructions the Dr. gave you and you should be fine!
Reply:I was fine with it, couple days and I was up and about. My husband on the other hand, about a week later he was STILL moaning!(lol) What a puss. But..he's adorable....so..

It's a good thing I was the one having the babies ....
