Normal tooth extraction....?

Its been 5 days from my tooth extraction and its a normal extraction only not surgical and i still feel the stiffness in my jaw (no swelling) and taking soft foods.when can i expect for the stiffness to recover? my dentist told that i would be able to eat solid food after a day but i can't still? is it ok for the normal extraction takes more than a 5 days to be cured?

Normal tooth extraction....?
When I had my wisdom teeth pulled I got lockjaw. It took a few days but my jaw was very sore and apparently something I had eaten had gotten into the stitches (can't remember how to spell sootchers) and traveled down my jaw. Well once it began decomposing it released whatever chemical it does when it begins to rot and that caused the muscles in my jaw to clinch. When I finally got in to see her I could only fit my finger tip between my teeth.

The solution was really simple and took like 10 minutes. No pain involved or anything and it cleared right up in about a day. You might wanna have it checked out.
Reply:No, you should be able to eat whatever you want on the opposite side of your mouth, being careful to not get any food inside the hole. (Easier said than done!) Sometimes there will be a piece of tooth/jawbone still in your mouth trying to work its way out. I would go back (he shouldn't charge you anything!) and see what's up, it could be infection!
