Tooth extraction!!!?

Help!!! I am having a front bottom tooth extracted on Wednesday next week as I have overcrowding, I'm absolutely terrified, anyone got any ideas as to how I can relax, I haven't slept for 4 nights now as I am terrified of needles plus the thought that this will hurt is doing my head in, anyone would think I'm a child but I'm 38!!!! Any help would be gratefully received, I am that bad I'm thinking of cancelling the appointment!!

Tooth extraction!!!?
maybe you could ask your dentist fro some happy gas, (if they have it), also get them to put extra numbing cream on before the injection. thats helps alot. injections in the lower antior usually dont hurt that much. it will be the best thing for your future oral health. over crowding is not good, you cant clean your teeth and gums properly and may get gum problems later on.

you will be fine, it wont be that bad.

good luck and go the gas...........
Reply:Dont cancel the appointment. It would b just a tiny prick %26amp; u wont feel any pain afterwards. Over crowded teeth will give u a lot of problems. In fact, being 38, ur already late.
Reply:You should call the office and discuss this with them, they can give you something for the night before to help you relax, one pill for the pm and another for the morning of the procedure. They usually prescribe a low dose of Valium. It would take too long to get to the root of your fears and help this way. It will be faster with the pills and you can work on the other issues after.
Reply:i had the same problem dont worry these teeth come out easy and soon heal the gap in mine has almost closed as my other teeth have straightened they look a lot better talk to your dentist about your anxiety he or she may be able to help they're used to it dont cancel
Reply:oh no, you can do it... they'll put anesthesia to it.. it'll get numb. you won't feel anything.
Reply:Don't be scared. I had 4 wisdom teeth out at the age of 30 with nothing more than some Novocaine shot into my gums. You don't feel a thing. Just relax and think of something that makes you happy.
Reply:the only thing you're scared of is needles and the pain. so narrow it down. theres worst things to be scared of. if kids can do it, so can you. diabetics use needles every day. this wil be a two second thing. just close your eyes. the pain thereafter will be numb, so its only the pain of the needle. you can do it!! i did, i was about 12. sometimes thugh, you might be braver if you dont ask so many questions on procedures! ignorance is bliss. but please dont worry. if its that bad, just cancel.
