poor you- i think u need stronger anti biotics and get some codiene based pain relief instead of ibro-teeth can leave massive holes once taken out-the pressure on a plane will probably make the pain worse too-dose up on strong pain relief or gargle with soluble asprin =that will get straight to the pain-good luck and go back to a dentist if not settled in a few days
Reply:the glands in your neck may be swollen due the infection and they may remain tender and sore for a week or two depending on the severity of the infection. continue with ibuprofen or aspirin regime carefully and perhaps another go with some stronger antibiotics. might have your dentist take an xray to check for a cyst/infection. consider how close this is to your ears, eyes, nose, brain....take it seriously. good luck
Reply:Amoxicillin is old and tired. You may very well have resistant bacteria.

Amoxicillin/Clavulanate (Augmentin) is next up, then Clindamycin.

Stay on lots of Ibu (up to 2400 mg/24 hrs, MD supervised)

Consider going to an Otolaryngologist.

You should have narcotics like hydrocodone or oxycodone and promethazine to counter narc-nausea.

Clindamycin has serious risk of C. Diff. diarreha. As you are in a hurry, upgrade your antibiotic to Amoxicillin/Clavulanate and get some narcotics, for God's sake! But don't go off ibuprofen. Use salt-water rinse. And see about promethazine with the narcs.
Reply:I had a similar experience and on returning to the dentist , he pushed a paste in , which smelt and tasted like cloves. The relief was instantaneous and lasting.
Reply:you should go back ask for an emergency apointment you need some stronger antibiotics and pain relief sounds like your suffering from neuralgia in your jaw
