Tooth Extraction?

I have to get a tooth extracted, its like a semi-molar. They are obviously going to numb my mouth, but when they pull it, is it going to hurt much??? I'm just a kid so I wouldn't really know. After I pull my tooth out, I need braces. And do braces hurt?

Tooth Extraction?
As a dentist myself I can assure you that you have nothing to worry about. Your dentist will give you an injection of Lidocaine in your gums that will block the nerve from feeling pain. The shot only feels like a small pinch and its over before you even know it. The only thing you will feel during the extraction is some pressure as your dentist pulls and pushes to loosen your tooth. Good luck and don't worry, you will be just fine!
Reply:It won't hurt at all. They will give you xylocaine which will completely numb and you wont feel any pain.

However, the scene will be very gory!
Reply:no it doesn't hurt much.....if your really scared ask for the gas.....they put it over your nose and you just breath normally.....and you'll hardly know it's being done. also my kids had braces.....none of them complained......just make sure you keep your teeth really clean.......as in brush and floss after every meal.........your going to look sooooooooooooo good when your teeth are all straightened .....so just look forward to that.......and be thankful you have parents welling and able to pay for you to have braces.......they are very expensive...........
Reply:No, it shouldn't hurt much at all. You may be a little sore for up to a few days afterwards though. This isn't anything to worry about. Braces are a cinch. They just take a long time. Not all dentists use nitrous oxide, but they will use xylocane or litacane. Both work very well to numb the specific area.

Good luck!
